Red apples and Green Apples: Which Is Healthier?

     Red apple and Green Apple:

An apple a day keeps the doctor away is an age-old adage, we have all heard too often. But the question is, which apple is the best, green or red?

The color of their skin is not the only thing that makes these two apples different from each other. Both taste different, and are packed with nutrients and have many nutritional benefits. So, it is natural to be curious which one is better. In this post, I have compared the two types of apples and tried to find out which one is better.

     Taste and Appearance:

Green apples are sour in taste. They have a thick skin, which makes them crisp. On the other hand, red apples are sweet, juicy and have thin skin. It is because of their sweetness, people prefer red apples over green ones.

     Nutritional Benefits of Apples:

Both red and green apples are packed with healthy minerals and vitamins. They are rich in pectin, antioxidants, quercetin and flavonoids. They defend cells from oxidative damage, reducing the risk of developing chronic heart, and liver diseases. Apples are low in calories and fiber. This makes them an excellent weight loss-friendly fruit.

The difference in their nutritional content:

There are minute differences in nutritional content between the two types of apples. Green apples are a good source of vitamin A, B, C, E and K than red apples. Plus, it contains more potassium, iron, and protein than a red apple.
